Under the protection of the great guardians, peace prevailed and the land thrived. Most Pokemon were happy with this way of life, however one Pokemon was not... Guardian Rayquaza soared over the great southern desert, surveying the land below. In the distance he spotted what he was looking for, a great oasis stood out against the otherwise harsh desert environment. Rayquaza flew down to the oasis and landed on the water's edge. In the middle of the spring stood a blue canine Pokemon with a flowing purple mane. "Greetings Guardian Rayquaza. To what do I owe the honor of this visit?" Guardian Suicune welcomed him. "Have you heard the rumors? They say that Pokemon have gone missing all over Alicrest." Rayquaza inquired. "Yes, it seems some fiend is snatching them up right from under our noses." Suicune answered "But who would do such a thing? And to what end?" "Probably just some poor fool who's unhappy with their lot in life." Rayquaza commented. "I'm not so certain." Suicune said skeptically "Whoever's behind this is fast enough to traverse Alicrest at remarkable speeds, and yet has also been able to avoid the eyes of the Guardians. No, I feel that something deeper is at work here." "I suppose we'll just have to wait and see." Rayquaza responded. A moment of silence passed between the two before Rayquaza spoke again. "Tell me something Suicune, are you satisfied with the state of this world?" Rayquaza asked. Suicune was caught a little off guard by the sudden introspective question "I've never really though about it, but I suppose that I am. Why, are you?" "To be honest, I've grown a bit weary of this peaceful lifestyle. No creature is or will ever be powerful enough to oppose us. So are we to spend eternity just watching the world drift by?" Rayquaza said. "It is our duty as Guardians to uphold the order of the land, whether we like it or not. Our mere presence acts as a deterrent to chaos and evil, keeping the delicate balance of peace intact." Suicune responded. "Yes, and that's part of the problem." Rayquaza said, a wicked grin suddenly forming on his face. "What?" Suicune spouted, confused by the sudden shift in Rayquaza's demeanor. But before Suicune could fully grasp what that meant, Rayquaza fired a Thunderbolt into the spring. Electricity coursed through the water and into Suicune's body, making him cry out in shock and pain before collapsing into the water. Rayquaza moved quickly, the paralysis wouldn't last long. He wrapped a coil around Suicune's body and squeezed, hard. Suicune felt the coil tightening around his body, forcing the air from his lungs and making it hard to breath. But the coil didn't stop there, it continued to tighten, moving from uncomfortable to painful. It wasn't long before the sound of bones cracking could be heard. Suicune let out a howl of agony as he felt his bones being crushed. With that, Rayquaza finally released the pressure, allowing Suicune to suck in painful breaths of air and cough up a small amount of blood. The paralysis was beginning to wear off and Suicune could finally speak "Rayquaza! What is the meaning of this?" "Isn't it obvious? I'm making the world a more interesting place." Rayquaza replied "The mere disappearance of a few unimportant Pokemon won't be enough to change anything. I need to aim higher." Suicune's eyes grew wide as realization struck him "It was you! You are responsible for the disappearances!" "It's about time you figured it out." Rayquaza mocked him "You know, I'm rather disappointed at how easily you went down. I thought I would at least get a decent fight out of you, but I guess this just shows what peace has done to you." "Spare me your gloating!" Suicune spat at him "If you're going to kill me, just get it over with!" "Well, if you insist." Rayquaza said before placing his head above Suicune. He opened his mouth wide, allowing strands of saliva to drip down onto Suicune's face. Suicune's pupils shrank as he looked up into the looming maw above him. "What are you doing Rayquaza?! Have you gone mad?!" Suicune shouted frantically at him. Rayquaza paused for a moment, closing his mouth again to answer "Oh did I neglect to tell you how I made those Pokemon disappear? I devoured them, alive and whole. Most of them survived about a week, but seeing as you're a guardian, I think you'll last a bit longer." Suicune's face twisted in disgust upon hearing this "You're sick! I don't know what's come over you, but you are not the Rayquaza I once knew." "You're right, I think it's time I shed my old name and replaced it with something more befitting my new role." Rayquaza said thoughtfully "From this day forth, I shall be known as Ovorlord Ouroboros!" "You won't get away with this! When the other Guardians learn of your treachery, they'll come after you!" Suicune threatened. "And they will meet the same fate as you." Rayquaza retorted "This world is about to enter a new era, one without Guardians!" Rayquaza opened his mouth again and began to lower it towards Suicune. His putrid breath washed over Suicune as he approached, carrying the scents of those he had eaten previously. Suicune tried to muster the strength for an Ice Beam, but inhaling deeply sent a surge of pain through his chest. Rayquaza had made sure to hurt him just enough to render him powerless without inflicting any permanent damage. Rayquaza's mouth was now right on top of Suicune, soft rippling flesh framing the canine's vision. Rayquaza closed his mouth around Suicune's upper half and ran his tongue across Suicune's face, sampling the his captive's flavor. Suicune was filled with disgust as he was slathered in saliva. He tried to bite back, but the appendage was too quick and a small bit of extra pressure from Rayquaza's mouth caused him to gasp in pain again. With Suicune secured in his mouth, Rayquaza uncoiled the lower half of Suicune's body. He then lifted his head up and tilted it back, letting gravity aid in swallowing the canine Pokemon. Suicune felt pressure release from his lower body followed by a shift around him. Even though he couldn't see, he could feel that he was now facing down into the ravenous serpent's throat. He was granted one last glimpse of light as Rayquaza opened his mouth to allow the rest of his body slide inside. He saw the moist pulsing throat muscles, eager to accept their next meal. His muzzle was quickly grabbed and he his face was dragged into Rayquaza's throat. Tight muscles rippled around him, working to pull him deeper into the serpent's body. A sharp pain shot through his body as his chest was pulled into the tight throat, crushing his broken bones against his own body. He hissed as he endured the pain of having more and more of his body enter the throat. It wasn't long before his entire body had been consumed and was making its way towards Rayquaza's stomach. Rayquaza let out a sigh of satisfaction. That had been even more enjoyable than he had hoped. A sizable lump was now protruding from his neck. He reached up with his claw to feel the lump as his muscles slowly moved it along. Eventually the lump stopped, having finally reached his stomach. There would be no chance of escape for Suicune now. All that was left for Rayquaza to do was to lie back and let his meal digest. Suicune continued his descent down the serpent's body. It was humiliating; He was a great and noble warrior; Yet here he was, being treated like a piece of common meat. If Rayquaza's stomach didn't kill him, the humiliation certainly would. Any attempts to struggle proved fruitless and only served to agitate his injuries. He had no choice but to ride the rippling wave of muscles to their destination. After several minutes, his muzzle was press up against a tight ring of flesh. He knew this was it, the entrance to Rayquaza's stomach. The ring of flesh expanded, allowing his muzzle to push through into the stomach chamber. It was marginally more spacious than the throat he had come from and the air was surprisingly less acrid than he expected. For now it was just sort of like a slimy warm pouch to rest in. But resting was the last thing on Suicune's mind. If what Rayquaza said was true, he'd be feeling the sting of digestion soon enough. Once again he tried to struggle, pushing out against the stomach walls, but they only stretched and molding around his paws. He tried again to gather energy for an Ice Beam, but it caused too much pain for him to concentrate. It seemed he was here to stay. The next couple of hours were spent contemplating means of escape, but his options were limited and he just didn't have the strength to fight his way out. He still didn't feel any signs of digestion, though he was certain the stomach walls were excreting some kind of caustic fluid. If he listened closely, he could here the slow, heavy breathing of Rayquaza's lungs over the gurgles of the stomach. It was likely that Rayquaza was napping after ingesting such a large meal. That gave him an idea; If he could get some sleep of his own, perhaps he could recover enough strength to escape. The thought of getting any rest in this fetid pit seemed impossible, but he really had no other options. So he closed his eyes and tried to image that he was anywhere but here. Suicune awoke to the weak stench of acid and complete darkness. He wasn't sure how long he had been out, but the light tingling of his skin told him that the digestive enzymes had begun their work on him. It was now or never. Suicune opened his mouth once more and tried to gather energy. His chest hurt as he pulled in air, but he pushed through the pain. Energy began to form in front of his muzzle, illuminating his prison slightly. Yes, this was going to work... Suddenly the stomach walls shifted around him, contracting and pushing him forward. The added pressure sent a fresh spike of pain through his chest and broke his concentration. The ball of energy burst prematurely scattering its energy around. At worst, it would give Rayquaza minor heartburn. "NO! DANG IT! DANG IT!" Suicune cursed. His only chance at escape had been thwarted by a cruel twist of fate. He wouldn't have enough time to gather strength for another attack, he could already feel the tingling intensifying as the stomach acids worked to break down his flesh. He let out an agitated shout of defeat. This was it, he could do nothing now but await his grizzly fate. Hours passed as he laid motionless in the caustic stomach chamber. He had grown accustomed to the tingling of his skin by now and it didn't really bother him anymore. With nothing else to do, he began to contemplate his life. As a guardian, he had always lived to protect others. Peace had always been their goal and for a while they had attained that goal. So why? Why did Rayquaza turn on them? Could it be that the world itself sought conflict? Was it true that peace had made him weak? No! This wasn't his fault, it was Rayquaza's. Call it what he wanted, Rayquaza was nothing more than a ravenous tryrant now and Suicune would not give into his beliefs. He would hold strong to the very end. But little did he know just how much his resolve would be tested. Even though he couldn't see, Suicune began to feel strands of his mane fall from his head. Some strands clung to his body, while others fell to the floor of the stomach. Soon after, he began to feel a light burning sensation at various points around his body. He wouldn't really describe it as painful yet, but it was definitely irritating. He couldn't help but fidget uncomfortably, trying to escape the source of the irritation. But there was no escape, his entire body was covered in digestive fluids, slowly but surely destroying his body one cell at a time. Again this dragged on for several hours, quickly wearing away at Suicune's patients and making him wish it would just be over already. The rest of his fur was beginning to fall out now, leaving his skin bare and raw. He cringed as his skin began to chafe painfully, even against the slimy stomach walls. But this was nothing compared to the suffering that awaited him. Over the next couple of hours, the burning intensified as his skin was further deteriorated. The sounds of sizzling and bubbling flesh filled the stomach chamber. Suicune's once regal appearance had been reduced to a hunk of boils and blisters. His breathes were heavy and labored and he grunted in pain as his skin was literally melted from his body. The smell of blood mixed into the acrid air as fresh wounds opened across his body. It became too much for the poor canine and he cried out in agony. It burned, oh dear Arceus it burned so much! He began to writhe in agony, the pain in his chest no longer comparing to the burning of his flesh. Surely this was the end, surely it would be over soon... But it didn't end; He continued to burn for hours, his skin dissolving into a slimy mush that he now wallowed in. The acid was now working on his muscles, making them sing out in pain as they were assaulted in a way they never should be. How long would he be forced to endure this?! Hatred bubbled to the front of his mind. He swore with every fiber of his being that he would make Rayquaza pay for making him suffer through this hell. The pain was maddening. As him muscles were stripped from his body, so was his sanity. Everything he was and ever had been was slow pushed from his mind. Only two truths remained, the ever growing pain and his hatred for the one who inflicted this upon him. Time lost all meaning to Suicune as he cried out in agony and rage until he had no strength left to give. He finally collapsed in a pool of his own digested tissue. He had no idea how long he lied there motionless, staring off into the darkness before numbness finally began to take him. The acid's persistence was finally paying off as Suicune's body began to dissolve entirely. His limbs melted down into chyme and his chest cavity was left open to the caustic environment of the stomach. At some point, Suicune's spirit left his body, finally free from his physical torment. But his spirit could not rest. Nothing of his old identity remained, all he could remember was the mind numbing pain and the grudge that sat at the forefront of his mind... Ouroboros would pay!
